can i shot profesinal films by digital8 trv 130e sony that could go to festivals and what does festival recieve films on i mean on vhs or on the tape of hi8 or what any advice usuing this cam for better quality

I use a Eura, and Handycam TRV740. If you're just starting out, Sony Digital Handycams are the way to go. They've got firewire, so you can edit, plus they have many features for the amount of money they cost. You can also find lens attachments fairly commonly, which is somewhat rare for a home video cam. So if you are looking to vary your shots, you might want to look into that.
As far as festivals go, you should be good for the local ones, or even the ones put on by universities and things. But a lot of the more pro festivals want VHS copies for choosing, and a print for screening, or so I'm told. And if you're young enough, (19 and under) there is the International Teen Movie Festival, http://www.hiltz2.com/itmf , which is held every summer. They accept VHS copies fromm around the world, and have pretty major sponsors and prizes.
